Austin, TX – The Relson Gracie Jiu-jitsu Austin Association will be competing in the upcoming 4th Annual Arnold Schwarzenegger World Gracie Submission Championships. In 2003, the Relson Gracie Austin Jiu-jitsu Association team came home with a win, Christy Thomas won 1st place in the Women's Blue Belt 161 - 173 (lbs.) Gi division. These champions have been training extensively and are prepared to take home the honor.
The Gracie Submission Championship is one of the featured events included in the Annual Arnold Fitness Expo. The event is scheduled for March 5 through March 7 in Columbus Ohio at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This event is regarded as one of the premier Professional/Amateur Submission and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Gi tournaments in the World. It will feature professional and amateur fighters worldwide. The competition begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday March 6, 2004.
The Relson Gracie Austin Jiu-jitsu Association has been hitting the mats hard, practicing new and innovative Jiu-jitsu techniques taught to them by instructors and competitors, Phil Cardella and Christy Thomas. The Relson Gracie Austin Jiu-jitsu Association regularly hosts seminars and trainings for renowned World Champions and Gracie Black belts, which put them in the forefront for the latest technique and skills.
This year a record number of Relson Gracie Jiu-jitsu students will be representing Austin at the 4th Annual Arnold Schwarzenegger World Gracie Submission Championships. Prize money and awards will be available for the top Professionals in the World Class Submission tournament and the Amateur competitors division in both the Gracie World Championship Gi Tournament and the Amateur Submission tournament.
